Thanks for signing up to the GlobalLegal Hackathon!
We’re excited that you’re coming in for a great weekend of hacking. You’ll no doubt leave with lots of information, new friends, business contacts, and a different perspective on the legal industry.
If you haven’t been to a hackathon before, or don’t know what it is, don’t fear, we’ll be covering all this off in the opening session. Everyone will be on the same page in no time. Before you come to Monash on Friday afternoon, here’s some things you’ll need to know:
What time does it start?
Arrive at the Learning and Teaching Building for registrations at 4pm, and the welcome will kick off at 5pm. An outline of the agenda can be seen in the "Schedule" tab in the menu bar.
Where is it?
Learning and Teaching Building (next to the bus loop)
19 Ancora Imparo Way
Monash University Clayton Campus
What is supplied?
We’ve got these things covered:
All meals and snacks are provided
Plenty of power boards/outlets
Stationery
What do I need to bring?
The following items are a must!
A keen mind and a thirst for knowledge
Laptop with power cable
Power Strips
Phone and Charger
Non-alcoholic beverages
Clothing to keep comfortable
Earphones/headphones
Anything else you think you may need
Do I need a team?
You don’t need to come with a team. If you have a team however, feel free to come as a formed, or partially formed team. Team formation will be facilitated before hacking begins so you don’t be left by yourself.
Anything else I need to know?
Judging criteria will be presented at the start of the event so you know exactly what you’ll be achieving over the course of the weekend. Mentors are on hand to help you and your team with any enquiries and general tips. The theme of Global Tech is very broad. Feel free to bring your own ideas, or work with the mentors and experts to validate ideas on the spot.
